This is probably not a forum game in the strictest sense, but I do think it's an excellent way for members to get to know one another better.
As the title says, tell the community how you chose the username/alias you are currently using for this forum. If you use other names elsewhere, feel free to explain those as well.
"STP" is an alias I've had for quite a long time, since 2004 if memory serves me right. The full alias would actually be "STP the Hedgehog" (the name of my principal fan character who was originally meant to be the incarnation of myself, but I've given him a unique back-story in recent times), but I drop the suffix when participating in communities outside this fandom. Many people have asked me what "STP" stands for, and they're often surprised to learn that it's not an acronym or an abbreviation. I can say, however, that the "S" comes from the first letter of my previous fan-character's name (which was entirely unoriginal and I can't even bear to mention it anymore), and the "P" is the first letter of my real-life last name. The "T" was added in because "SP the Hedgehog" didn't roll off the tongue quite as smoothly as "STP." (Some have also asked whether it's a reference to the band "Stone Temple Pilots," who often uses that acronym to refer to themselves, and the truth is, I hadn't even heard of the band until years after creating this name for myself.)
