Name the best character in your opinion from the main video game series or otherwise and why! How fun.
While I could try separating my favorites within their respective alternation of Sonic (the comics, any of the shows, etc), I'm mostly inclined to just say everyone's my favorite! I can't really choose because they all show unique attributes and bring something worthwhile to their roles in each narratives. That said, I do sometimes go through character phases where I fixate over a particular character to gush over and move on from there, sometimes even coming back around if i find a new reason to gush over them. I think the character I do have a stronger attachment to the most is Rouge the Bat. I don't know why but she's really grown on me as a competent, independent and multifaceted character with mysterious but hinted motives. I find her mystique so appealing and love drawing from that in my fanwork of her. She's a great character that I love to explore! But I'll always love the rest of the cast too :)p
For my least favorite, it's far less ambiguous than who my favorites are. I am still really bent up over Chris Thorndyke from Sonic X. It's no good man! No good at all.
As a child watching that show, I ALWAYS knew he shouldn't have been such an integral part of the show and character dynamics and YET he was. Big missed potential on Sonic Teams part for letting the writing take place not in Sonics world to explore and the characters relationships to see more of, but in our universe! That gets me down dudes. I get it if Sega wants to keep all exploration of Sonics world and the character developments specifically to the games, but imagine what they could have done with the show if Chris wasn't such a PIVOTAL character to detract the shows quality. He was always very annoying to me and I can't get the reasons of him even being there in the first place. Bleh.
I do actually have another least favorite. In the Archie Comics, I really did not care for the whole "extra" echidnas. They were a laaaame addition to the story and were too convoluted, too aggressively show-stealing and added a mess. I admit to liking lien-da mostly because she's a compelling character compared to any of the other echidnas. But dang, poor Knuckles really had a diminished importance in his own story. Not even because "more echidnas mean he isn't the last one therefore he's noo longer important", but more so that it wasn't really a series of events that changed Knuckles as a character or saw him growing through his adversaries. It was a constant back and forth between him and his "DESTINIESSSS". It all also felt pandered to the other echidnas. Knuckles was just the excuse to have them there.
I could go further but I feel I rambled enough as is. X)
