This is my first post here on the Sapphire Sky Zone forums, and as such, I feel obliged to list my qualifications (for lack of a better term).
I've been interested in Sonic the Hedgehog and his games since the Genesis era (1996 or '97 if I had to guess -- Sonic & Knuckles was the first title I had a chance to play). My affinity for the games, particularly those from the Genesis era, had inspired me to make a sprite comic titled Mobian Chaos which I began in 2005 and have published regular weekly updates ever since.
In terms of my experience with communities of like-minded fans, I've sought out and given feedback to Sonic fan art on DeviantART.com (since 2007). I've created and posted some work of my own there as well, and if time allows, perhaps I can share some of it with you all. More recently (about a year ago) I joined Tumblr with the name Call Me "STP" and have slowly become more active there, asking questions to Sonic-character blogs and such. As for online BBS communities like this one, the only one of note is the now-defunct "Sonic and Pals" comic strip forum, of which I was a part from 2006 until its dissolution in 2013. Over the course of that time, I was promoted (elected) to a forum moderator position, and later, to administrator position to save the board from an onslaught of spam-bot account sign-ups. I haven't been part of any BBS community since then, and it's one of the reasons why I chose to join this fledgling community here -- I hope to be able to discuss Sonic the Hedgehog with like-minded people and perhaps make some new acquaintances, for everyone on my old forum went their separate ways after the break-up.
I must give credit where credit is due, however, and thank the Tumblr user GreenyVertekins for signal-boosting a post that was advertising of this forum.
Now I'm off to take a closer look at what has been posted on this forum already. If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to ask
